DO THINGS YORE WAY
What is YORE WAY?
At it’s conception, YORE was a blend of yoga + resilience - a reflection of the key elements of my teaching at the time.
Like me, my offerings ever evolving and these days YORE more accurately reflects yoga + remedial bodywork, through the lens of Zenthai Shiatsu therapy. Most people I know are already incredibly resilient, and don’t need to be coached on how to better handle the storms around them - instead they need spaces out of the weather.
Every body holds a different story, every day is a different experience, and every class or treatment is an opportunity to honour and support where you are at. For this reason, no two treatments or classes will ever be the same - even if we follow the exact same sequence. As a study addict and career chameleon, my perspectives and skill set are also ever-evolving. The only thing that will never change is my fundamental belief that healing is unique, individual and something that has to be done your way if it is to be accessible, effective, and sustainable.
Whether it is easing pain, supporting your nervous system, tools you can integrate in your everyday, or simply a space for you to surrender - I will always offer things in a way you understand, designed around your personal goals.
My professional background spans military, emergency services, executive & strategic leadership, disability support, mental health and more. I have had reconstructive surgeries, and injuries to just about every major limb and joint, and I have never found it easy to meditate. I joke that my body doesn’t need to keep the score, because I know I’m not winning any prizes! Through my own extensive physical and emotional healing, I have come to realize there is no magic bullet. No singular modality is better than any other, and the method in which wisdom is delivered is only as valuable as the ability of the recipient to understand and engage with it. My own journey has involved the medical system, psychology and psychiatry just as much as it has been through traditional healing methods; and I credit both for my recovery.
Whilst I always respect and honour the origins of my work, I understand the importance of making it accessible, and the value of providing credible bases for the things I espouse. I won’t preach philosophy to you if you aren’t ready to hear it. I don’t follow or see any singular modality or practice as the ‘right one’, and I will never tell you what you ‘should’ be doing. I will share from my toolkit where it is welcomed, with the emphasis always being that only you can decide what is right for you, and my aim is to support you to find the confidence to believe in your own innate wisdom, intuition and right to autonomy.
I know from my own journey the importance of respecting where people are at, and how much they want to engage with. If you are new to exploring energetics, yoga and bodywork, it is completely fine for our sessions to focus purely on the physical and structural side of remedial bodywork. For those of you more inclined towards depth, I will happily chat with you about meridians, philosophy and ancient wisdom.
Whether it is mindfulness or meditation, bodywork or ‘just a massage’ to you, I am invested in providing you with the support you need in your journey of health, wellness and happiness.
I welcome opportunities to have my understanding expanded through hearing what resonates with you. I am not here to judge, just share - in both directions. I believe we are all better served with curiosity, compassion and gentle challenge than we are with rigid belief systems.
It is a privilege to hold space for other space holders and fellow burnt-out warriors whose nervous systems have never had a real chance to rest.
I look forward to supporting you - YORE WAY.

Once succinctly described by a friend as ‘the MMA of massage’, Zenthai Shiatsu is also often described as ‘having yoga done to you’.
This dynamic, movement-based therapy is renowned for effectively addressing musculoskeletal discomfort, digestive issues, and nervous system imbalances. Created by Gwyn Williams uses a combination of techniques from:
Thai Massage
Zen Shiatsu/ Acupressure
Osteopathic Techniques
Traditional Chinese Medicine
It is completed fully clothed, and there is no massage table involved - you can expect treatments to be completed on a comfortable futon on the floor. I will use things like pillows, eye masks, bolsters, blankets and balms to make you as comfortable as possible.

I get it, ‘space holding’ is a term that gets used a lot lately and also makes many people cringe. You could also call it pre-screening, integration, whatever you like.
Basically it is 30minutes (split before and after the Zenthai component) where we can cover the necessities like current injuries, and the niceties like having a cup of tea and a juicy long savasana.
The ‘space holding’ bit enables you to tell me what’s been going on and to help your nervous system slowly settle before we start any bodywork. It also gives us time to talk about anything that came up during the session, where that might have come from and how you can best integrate and move forward.
It can also just be a time to talk about anything cool we have read recently, or a space to vent about what has been annoying you - or some time where your phone is away, you are uncontactable and I just shut up and let you nap. All of these things support bodywork in their own way.
I have found spaces where I can be open and honest about my own experiences have be incredibly beneficial in supporting my journey reconnecting to my body, and offer you a safe place to do the same if it feels appropriate for you.
Anything you tell me in the course of our treatments (unless I fear for the safety of you or another person) will always be held in the strictest of confidentiality.

Well technically it’s neither. This is a place for both your body and mind to let go as much as you feel safe to.
I am not a counsellor or psychologist, nor do I have formal mental health qualifications. I will always respectfully emphasise this whilst encouraging us both to recognise our limits and boundaries.
It is important to me that I am just a tool in your journey and a conduit of information, not a guru or a pillar in your life. I am here to listen non-judgmentally and provide you with references that you may wish to further explore.
I will not suggest I have the answer to your problems, or that the medical, traditional or esoteric worlds have them either.
I will instead share the things that have worked for me and others I know, and give you the autonomy to investigate these in your own way.
Sometimes this means encouraging you to seek a talk therapy session with a mental health worker, and sometimes it means suggesting you see a doctor or other allied health professional.
Other times it means chatting through what yoga and Chinese medicine says about the meridians we worked on.
I will recommend others you should reach out to if I think it might help. I don’t earn any commissions, or have any expectations or agendas for my recommendations.
I will always admit my own knowledge gaps, and provide you with the references or sources I have learned from wherever possible.
Movement
Zenthai Flow
Take the teachings into your own body in a fully embodied way with Zenthai Flow - a guided practice similar to yoga, that weaves in a focus on the Five Elements of TCM. Zenthai flow emphasizes mobility and fun!
I am not currently offering Zenthai Flow on a regular basis - if you’d like to arrange sessions at your studio, or a private class please get in touch!
If you’d prefer to practice online, you can do so with the founder Gwyn Williams at Zenthai Online
Yoga
With most of my training being a blend of hatha and vinyasa based practices, I enjoy teaching classes that have an element of flow and well considered sequences. Spaces that allow me to explore creativity and hands-on adjustments are the ones I most align with.
I am taking a break from teaching regular classes, but occasionally teach covers around Melbourne. I welcome private sessions with small groups and individuals.
My instagram is the best way to stay up to date with all movement offerings.

I currently predominantly treat from my home in Footscray, VIC 3011. I ocassionally treat in Officer and New Gisborne, but do not offer regular sessions in these locations. I will give you my exact location after confirming your booking.
I will consider offers to host me at your home or studio if the space is suitable.
My location is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from either Footscray or West Footscray station. Buses 216 and 410 stop close to my home. There is free, all-day on street parking.
I will treat people travelling from anywhere, but I am most accessible to those looking for a massage in the Western Suburbs - Footscray, Seddon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Flemington, Altona, Williamstown etc. If you would like recommendations for a practitioner in other areas of the city, I will gladly provide them to you.

Zenthai Shiatsu therapy is a practice completed fully clothed. Please either bring or wear full length pants, socks and a tee-shirt or long sleeved shirt/ jumper.
It is best you wear something super comfy, like tracksuit pants, leggings or fisherman style pants. You can expect to feel cold during the treatment as you drop into your parasympathetic nervous system and appropriate clothing helps manage this.
Whilst I will have blankets on hand, I cannot turn up the heat (for my own comfort - its quite a workout for me doing Zenthai and I’d rather not turn it into a hot yoga practice).
You don’t need to bring anything else, unless you have preferred balms, blankets or other items that you would like used during the session that will help you feel more relaxed during your treatment.

Anyone who may benefit from physical and emotional benefits of Zenthai Shiatsu and the space offered either side of that.
It is a privilege to support people from the communities I have been part of or adjacent to over the years.
I am a neuroaffirming, LGBTQIA+ and sex-worker friendly Navy veteran, who has also had AOD peer support worker and lived-experience mental health worker roles. These things have given me a broad range of experiences - I am very open minded, can likely empathise with one or more things you have experienced. It is very hard to shock me!
The only people I can’t work with are those with serious cat allergies that a anti-histamine cant fix. I treat from home, where my 15 year old cat Suki also lives. She will sleep in the bedroom while we practice, but she is a dander monster and no amount of vacuuming will ever make the space allergy free.
You can also request for her to be part of the session - she loves hanging out and sitting on your lap while we chat, or on your chest while you are in savasana.
